What is your Musical intent and what contribution does music make to cultural capital in your school?

Ofsted have defined cultural capital as ‘the essential knowledge that pupils need to be educated citizens, introducing them to the best that has been thought and said and helping to engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.’ This course will help music coordinators and subject leaders identify how music contributes to the development of cultural capital in their school. This will support you to establish what is appropriate coverage and content in your schools music curriculum, recognising your musical intent and ensuring that your setting is Ofsted compliant.

This training is likely to take place outside of your school. Dates, times and venues will be decided once we know how many staff would like to take part. We will try to take into account your preferred days where possible.
