Southampton Music Hub’s Family Music Programme is helping families of all shapes and sizes share the life-changing power of making music together: inspiring players and singers, of all ages and abilities, to be part of a lifelong musical journey that boosts health and wellbeing and builds community cohesion through shared music experiences. 

New for 2019:

In partnership with world-class musicians, Southampton Music Hub provides a wide range of free, open-access, family music making activities across the city, including:

  • Music Fayrehosted by Central Hall — proudly sharing Southampton’s diverse music communities

  • Family Orchestrain partnership with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra — a free family orchestra that’s open to anyone

  • Family Singing in partnership with Fiona Funnell — community singing workshops to help the whole family happier and healthier

  • Family Rock Jam hosted by Academy of Music and Sound, with house band Groove Merchant — free and fun, open-access rock guitar jam sessions

  • Family Proms hosted by Turner Sims — an end of season celebration concert bringing together family music from across the city
